Konstantina Georgelou est une théoricienne des arts du spectacle, dramaturge et chercheuse grecque.
Ses recherchent abordent la théorie et la pratique dramaturgique par l'angle politique et s'intègrent dans une enquête continue sur les pratiques de résistance incarnées et les formes de dés/ordre pensées et exprimées par la danse et la performance. Elle est maître de conférences au département d'études sur les médias et la culture de l'université d'Utrecht, chargée de cours au DAS Choreography et conseillère en théorie au DAS Theatre, des masters de l'École supérieure de l'Université des arts d'Amsterdam.
Elle est l'auteure d'une thèse intitulée 'Performless : operations of l'informe in postdramatictheatre' (2011, Université d'Utrecht) dans laquelle elle propose d'utiliser la notion de " l'informe " de Georges Bataille dans l'analyse des stratégies dramaturgiques des performances postdramatiques avec une attention particulière sur les fonctions du langage, du corps et du temps sur scène. Par la suite, elle a été nommée au Centre for the Humanities, pour mener des recherches sur l'intersection entre la danse et les sciences cognitives. Entre 2011 et 2019, elle a été chargée de cours dans le master de chorégraphie d'ArtEZ et du master de pratiques théâtrales à Arnhem.
Plus récemment, elle s'est dirigée vers l'étude de la dramaturgie pratique, la chorégraphie, la danse, le (nouveau) matérialisme et la recherche artistique, en quête de modes d'action et de mouvement collectifs. Elle analyse des pratiques artistiques, discursives et militantes et recherche des modes de production collectifs pour la théorie et les arts. Elle travaille avec les artistes Genevieve Murphy, Zhana Ivanova, Billy Mullaney, Chara Kotsali, Danae Theodoridou, Janez Janša, Efrosini Protopapa, Mladen Alexiev, Katja Heitmann, Ingrid Berger Myhre et Apostolia Papadamaki.
Dr Konstantina Georgelou is a performing arts theorist, dramaturg and researcher.
Her research is on the practice and theory of dramaturgical activity, especially regarded from a political perspective, which is part of her ongoing inquiry on embodied practices of resistance and forms of dis/order as these are thought and expressed within dance and performance. She is an assistant professor at the Department of Media and Culture Studies at Utrecht University and at the University College Utrecht. She is also a tutor at DAS Choreography and the theory advisor at DAS Theatre, both MA programmes at the Graduate School of the Amsterdam University for the Arts.
In 2011 she received her PhD from Utrecht University, with a thesis entitled Performless: The operation of l'informe in post-dramatic theatre, where she proposed Georges Bataille's notion of l'informe for the analysis of dramaturgical strategies in postdramatic performance, with a particular analytical focus on the function of language, body and temporality on stage. Later on, she was appointed as a post-doc fellow at the Centre for the Humanities, to conduct research on the intersections between dance and cognitive neurosciences. Between 2011-2019 she was also a core tutor at the ArtEZ Master of Choreography and, later on, of Theatre Practices in Arnhem.
More recently, her research spans over the areas of practical dramaturgy, choreography and dance, (new) materialism and artistic research, inquiring ways to move and act collectively. She studies artistic, discursive and activist practices and researches in-practice collective modes of production in theory and in the arts. She has worked together with several artists including Genevieve Murphy, Zhana Ivanova, Billy Mullaney, Chara Kotsali, Danae Theodoridou, Janez Janša, Efrosini Protopapa, Mladen Alexiev, Katja Heitmann, Ingrid Berger Myhre and Apostolia Papadamaki.
